Family Session // Demopolis, AL // Foscue Park
I have worked with Julia and her sweet daughter before, so when she reached back out desiring a family session, I was ecstatic. Return clients are such a treat because you have rapport with this client already AND they came back to me - which means I know they liked me previous work for them. That is a very rewarding feeling to book a client more than once.
Julia requested a 20-minute mini session to get a refresh on her family portraits. Also, she felt twenty minutes was all her husband was going to want to endure (spoiler alert - he had a great time). We settled on Foscue park as I had hosted the Lighthouse mini session at that location the day before and I knew the light was fantastic. The blog post for that session is linked here.
We met at Foscue and luckily the gorgeous light came out to play again. We got to the session right away and the chemistry Julia and William have is so tangible and sweet. Also, their love for their daughter is so precious. Also, Julie and Williams did a fantastic job with outfit selection - it was very cohesive with the soft whites and blues. And it really popped in front of the green backdrop.
Since we only had 20 minutes, I had to breeze through my standard poses, but we had a really nice time. By the end of it, William said he actually enjoyed the session - which is a major win for me. I love it when men show up to a session and it ends up being better than they expected, or even enjoyable. I know getting dressed up and losing an afternoon to take family portraits can feel like such a chore, but I really do try my best to make the experience feel like a fun date or family outing.
I knew before I looked at these images on my computer that they were glowy and gorgeous.
The session was short and sweet and absolutely perfect.
