A Sweet Church Wedding Near Brookhaven, Mississippi | Abbey Grace & Grant


I've known Abbey Grace for six years now and consider her a dear friend. One of the sweetest parts of photographing her wedding day was having the privilege of watching her and Grant's love story unfold right in front of me. Abbey Grace and Grant first formed a friendship through their church, First Baptist Church of Demopolis, Alabama. With a little encouragement from some mutual friends, and plenty of family game nights where the two were conveniently invited, their friendship eventually grew into something more. Their love for one another is as genuine and sweet as it comes, and anyone who spends time around them can see it.


Their wedding day took place at Abbey Grace's home church, Gum Grove Baptist Church, near Brookhaven, Mississippi. Before the ceremony, we traveled just down the road to a relative's home for their first look. It was such a sweet, intimate moment that included the two reading private vows to one another. I photographed their vows from a distance, giving them the space to feel completely alone and be themselves while still documenting those precious memories.


After their first look, we returned to Gum Grove Baptist Church for family and bridal party portraits before the ceremony. Their ceremony was deeply personal and centered on the Lord, reflecting the faith that first brought them together. The reception was just as heartfelt, with a home-cooked meal prepared by family and one of my favorite details of the day, a potluck dessert table filled with homemade treats from their loved ones.


There was something so special about the simplicity of Abbey Grace and Grant's wedding day. It wasn't about extravagant details or elaborate celebrations. It was about their faith, their families, and the people who love them most. A truly sweet Mississippi wedding day that I was so grateful to be part of.
