A Morning Full of Anticipation
The guys kicked off the morning in Windgate's private cabin filled with rustic Alabama charm, antler mounts on every wall, and a groomsmen crew that was jolly, a little giddy, and absolutely ready to celebrate their best friend. Meanwhile, the bridal suite was everything the cabin was not: crisp, bright, intentionally beautiful. Kaley's gown waited on a mannequin at the center of the room while her girls moved around it with that particular mix of reverence and excitement only bridesmaids understand. We kept the first looks intentional and layered. Mom and sister got their moment first, always one of the most quietly emotional beats of a wedding morning. Then the bridesmaids. Then, finally, Brian and Kaley saw each other for the first time.
Rain on the Horizon
We were on a 7-hour package and the sky was not making promises. Overcast skies hung over Windgate Farms all morning, and every vendor on-site had one eye on the clouds. As an Alabama wedding photographer, I've learned that you either wait on the weather or you work around it, and we worked around it. Every portrait, bridal party photo, and bride and groom photo was completed before the ceremony even began, so we weren't scrambling after the vows when the skies finally opened. The bridesmaids were a dream — doting, attentive, completely focused on their bride. The groomsmen brought the energy. And somehow, the overcast light ended up being a quiet gift of soft, even lighting.
The Ceremony
Brian and Kaley exchanged vows in a quaint outdoor ceremony on the grounds of Windgate Farms. Windgate's team handled every detail such as florals, linens, décor, planning, and coordination. The space felt curated but never over-decorated, which let the focus stay exactly where it belonged: on the two of them making a covenant in front of the people who love them most. The best part is the rain held. Every last guest made it under the covered reception space before the skies let go. If that's not a sign, I don't know what is.
Reception: Dinner, Dancing & a Krispy Kreme Groom's Cake
While guests enjoyed a spread from Majestic Catering Services, Brian and Kaley slipped away for a private dinner, offering a small moment of stillness in the middle of a big, beautiful day. When they rejoined their guests, the reception came alive: first dances, toasts, and a cake cutting featuring a stunning creation from The Wired Whisk. And yes, the groom's cake was a full Krispy Kreme setup, which tells you everything you need to know about Brian.
Rain surrounded the reception space as the night wound down, presenting a soft backdrop to an evening that was full of warmth and music,
